A hush falls over the crowd. A lone sea bean calls into the night: “PAH-KRAWH, PAH-KRAWWWHH!” You feel sweat gathering in between your eyelid and the boney part underneath your eyebrow. What’s that smell? It’s Actionesse.

Born, bred and bathed in brassy broth, Actionesse is a four-piece post-horncore band from Seattle, Washington. Their textured, maximalist approach to genre-bending has been lauded as “weirdo rock”; their live performance “like a swirling tornado onstage”.

Actionesse released their debut EP, Mignon, in September of 2016. Produced by Ahren Lanfor, the record perfectly reconciled the band’s dark and heavy meaty bits with their soft, playful underbelly. Following Mignon came Fortune, their second release with Lanfor - an EP which demonstrated true development for the band through three wildly different and unapologetically blistering tracks.

The band released their third EP, Deep, on May 11th, 2018. Recorded and mixed by Simon Nicol (Leava), Deep is a rollicking, raging, and timely critique of American culture: hardcore punk kept melodically zany by a full-throated horn section. On Deep, Actionesse harness a sonic assault akin to a Danny Elfman score on PCP, with more than a dash of Hot Snakes and Drive Like Jehu.

Actionesse is currently playing in Western Washington and will embark on their 3rd tour in the Spring of 2019, covering the West Coast and American Southwest. They are also hard at work on a debut full length album, set to release in 2019.
